Windows 7 lag and Audio Baloney

  • Question

  • I recently got a new laptop (pre-installed with windows 7), I am experiencing d a very odd lag. Ordinarily, I was doing something like web browsing in Firefox or playing online games. My sound would lag and brand this awful screeching static sound, and anything I had upwards, would lag or end responding. Bringing up the chore managing director was as well a hassle, every bit clicking or initiating anything else was met with extreme lagging resistance. While initially these bouts of lockup would run their course, they've been getting more severe.

I had to force a manual shut down. When I rebooted (which fixed information technology in the past, albeit temporarily), it nonetheless suffered this same extreme lag and sound distortion.

It merely keeps getting worse and worse.

I accept tried to call Gateway tech support simply its nothing but unhelpful automated voice recording.  I don't know what to do.  I'one thousand sick and tired of this lag and audio lag.  I can't seem to become any help with it at all.

  • I had the problem of audio distortion, clipping and compression after I installed Windows vii. Nothing worked although I properly updated all audio related drives until I stumbled upon new settings interface in Windows seven which I did not doubtable.

Hither is what I did, which completely solved my sound bug.

Get to Command Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound > Playback tab.

Right click on a playback device, and choose Configure Speakers. The default is set to Stereo. I recommend choosing Quadrophonic if you do non have a subwoofer, and 5.1 Surroundings if y'all have a subwoofer connected. Go through the tests and confirm OK. Become through the residual of the playback devices.

Finally, re-confirm default playback device (even if it was already ready equally default device – by choosing a deviation device as default first then re-selecting the intended default device).

Give an audio source such as YouTube a try. I was surprised all my distortions, compressions and clipping issues were at present completely gone.

  • I came across this while googling a fix for this verbal problem.   A suggestion from someone on another site seems to have solved my problem, then I decided to postal service it hither in case anyone else comes across this when looking for a prepare to this problem.

All I had to do was uninstall Norton anti virus (information technology was Internet Security 2oo8 or 2009 I believe), and bam.  After restart no baloney at all.  Merely time will tell if information technology was the restart or the uninstall, only Im fairly certain its the uninstall as restarts havent worked previously.

    Promise this helps, good luck.

Edit:  No luck.  Once once again it came back.  This is driving me basics.
